The Tankdestroyer (pvkv) m/43 was designed using the
same chassi as strv m/42, but in order to accommodate a larger gun (anti-aricraft
gun m/36/35) than that of Strv m/42, the pvkv m/43 was not equipped with a
traversable turret. It was delivered during 1946-1947.
The Armoured Brigad type 48 was equipped with six pvkv m/43 each, at that time the only armoured vehicle with capacity to defeat potential enemies heavy tanks. In mid 50s the vehicles were modified. The original engine, a Volvo V8 350 hp was changed into the aforementioned two Scania engines and the combat compartment received a covered top at the same time.
